• How can I recover my password?
  1. Email us using the email address you've registered with Bnovel.
  2. Please write 'Password Recovery Request' in the subject heading.
  3. Include your username in the email body.
• I'm logged in but I get the "Unauthorized access" message when submitting a form. What's up?
  1. This is probably because you have logged into the same Bnovel account on multiple browsers.
  2. To solve this problem, please log out and log in again.
• I receive the "Block" message when I attempt to log in. What's going on?
  1. You account is banned and you should know why.
  2. Please contact us if you have any further questions.

Writing

• Is there a restriction to what I can submit?
  All submissions are welcomed as long as the written works...

  1. ...do NOT contain excessive sex, profanity, or gratuitous violence.
  2. ...are original or you have the right to publish them.
• What should I do if someone has pirated my work?
  1. Please email us immediately.
  2. Please write 'Piracy' in the subject heading.
  3. Please provide evidence that shows the work is indeed pirated.
  4. Once confirmed, we will remove the pirated work as soon as possible.
• How do I add/remove a novel?
  1. Please log in.
  2. Click on the SHELF button in the top navigation bar.
  3. Click on the Written Work tab.
  4. Click on the Show Options button besides the tab at the right hand corner.
  5. Click on the Add Novel/Remove Novel button under the tab.

  
  
• How do I edit the title, description, tags, and keywords of my novel?
  1. Please log in.
  2. Click on the Edit Book Profile botton near the book title on the book's page.
• How do I add/edit/remove a chapter?
  1. Please log in.
  2. Get to the book's page.
  3. Click on the Index tab.
  4. Click on the Add Chapter/Edit/Remove button under the tab.

  
  
• I have my written work in a Word document, how can I import it to Bnovel?
  1. There is a button which says "paste from word" in the toolbar of the text editor.
  2. Upon click of the button, a window with a text field will pop up.
  3. Paste the content from your Word document directly into the field to import.
• How do I rearrange the order of chapters of my novel?
  1. When you edit a chapter, you can change the position of the chapter by selecting a new position using the "Insert" drop down menu.
  2. See the question above for more details on how to edit a chapter.
• How do I setup a donation box for my written work?
  1. You need a Paypal account.
  2. Log in Bnovel.
  3. Get to your book's page.
  4. Click on the Edit botton in the "Author's Donation Box".
• Do you charge anything for your service? Do I get the full donations if there are any?
  We offer our services for free and charge absolutely nothing. *cheers*

Recommending

• How do I recommend a book?
  1. Get to the book's page.
  2. Click on the Recommend link to vote.
• How many votes do I receive in a week?
  You receive 3 non-accumulative votes every Monday.

Reviewing

• How do I add a book review?
  1. Please log in.
  2. Get to the book's page.
  3. Click on the Reviews tab.
  4. Click on the Add Review button under the tab at the right hand corner.

  Note: You must be level 2 or above to write/rate reviews.

Shelf

• Where is my bookshelf?
  1. Please log in.
  2. Click on the SHELF button in the top navigation bar.
  3. Click on the Bookshelf tab.
• How do I add a novel to my shelf?
  You can do so by either...

  • ...clicking on Archive link under the book's page.
  • ...clicking on Update Bookmark link under the chapter page of the book.
• How do I remove a novel from my shelf?
  1. Please log in.
  2. Click on the SHELF button in the top navigation bar.
  3. Click on the Bookshelf tab.
  4. Click on the Remove button under the tab.
• What's the maximum number of books I can archive?
  50.

User Level

• What is the user level system?
  • The user's level is a measure of the user's contribution to the Bnovel community.
  • The higher the level, the more influence the user has on Bnovel. For example, one's recommendation power is proportional to his/her level.
  • Monetary reward system for high level users has been planned.
• How do I level up?
  • Your level depends on your score which is a measure of your contribution to the community.
  • You earn points by making positively-rated comments, informative posts, and by submitting new content.

Community

• What's "Forum Type & Go"?
  • The forum system gives you the ultimate freedom to make boards just about anything, such as book reviews and book/fan clubs.
  • You can create/access any boards by searching the name of the board in the "Forum Type & Go" on Community's page.
• What's a private forum and what's the use of it?
  • Anyone on Bnovel can create a private forum that only its creator and guests can access.
  • Here are some of the potential uses of a private forum.
  • A place to store your drafts.
  • You can invite guests to help proof read or comment on your work.
  • A place to collaborate with others.
• How can I create a private forum?
  1. Please log in.
  2. Click on the SHELF button in the top navigation bar.
  3. Click on the Community tab.
  4. Click on the Show Options button besides the tab at the right hand corner.
  5. Click on the Create Private Forum button under the tab.
• What's forum subscription and how do I subscribe?
  • The purpose of forum subscription is to help you keep track of the forums that interest you. All forums you have subscribed are shown under the Community tab on your user's page.
  • You can subscribe to a forum by clicking on the Subscribe link on the top-right corner of the forum's page.
• What's the use of 'bump' and how do I bump a post?
  • A post is usually bumped if it is useful. It's Bnovel's way to pin down a post.
  • You can bump a post by clicking on the Bump link on the top-right corner of the post's page.
• How do I edit/remove my post?
  1. Please log in.
  2. Get to your post's page.
  3. Click on the Edit/Remove button.
• What does comment tracking do?
  • Comment tracking aims to help you track replies.
  • You will receive a one-time alert in the form of a private message when someone replies to your tracked comment/topic.
  • Trackings older than 30 days will autometically be deleted.
• How do I track replies/comments?
  1. Please log in.
  2. Click on the Track/Track Comment link to start tracking.

  Note: Click on the link again will turn off tracking.

Private Messaging

• How do I add a user to my contact?
  You can do so by either...

  • ...clicking on the +contact button on that user's page while you are logged in.
  • ...clicking on the Edit button near Contacts in your PM page.
• What's the use of my contacts?
  Usernames in the contact box in your PM page can be clicked to add the usernames to the "send to" field autometically.
• How do I PM someone?
  You can do so by either...

  • ...clicking on the pm button near the username on that user's page while you are logged in.
  • ...filling in that user's username in the "send to" field in your PM page.
• How do I send a PM to multiple users?
  You can send the same message to muliple users by having more usernames in the "send to" field. Usernames in the field have to be seperated by space.
• How do I block someone from PM me?
  You can block someone by adding him/her to your block list. You can access your block list by clicking on the Edit button near Contacts in your PM page.
• Why my messages are not sent to a certain user?
  The chances are that you are being blocked.
